The Devondale House was our first complete remodel. I'm not sure what made us think.. hey, let's buy a 1960's house that needs to be completely redone, since we had never done that before. I'm really glad we did though. We learned so much from this house and had a lot of fun doing it. Brandon saw this house before I did and actually made an offer on it before I even got a chance to see it. He said he knew I would love it. He got lucky. We both fell in love with the charm of a mid-century home that basically hadn't been touched since the 60's. The original kitchen had a 1962 Tappan oven with a pull-out stove top. I had never seen anything like it. The house was 2200 square feet in a well established and loved neighborhood. It was very dark and outdated, but we saw the charm and potential the moment we stepped in. Here are the before and after pictures.
